No Matter How You Spell It ...

We believe in multi-tasking

Many uses for one thing.
A game to play - a board that rhymes
And tells our happenings.
So the time is now turned over
Amid the snow and burrrrrr
To our Christmas blogger
Mr. Scrabble, sir.

------------------------------------------------

I'm the game played round the world.
Perhaps you've heard of me?
A checkered board of pink and blue
With blocks from A to Z.
In twenty ten my tiled I-s
Have seen the happen-ings -
The highs and lows of each new day
Within this fam-ly scene.
So, upon myself I took the task
To pen their yuletide card.
I gathered verbs and adjectives
But found the next part hard.
Describe a dad, a mom, a girl,
A girl ... another and another.
My mind was all a swirrrrl!
With no way to form a proper noun,
My mem'ries got confused.
I took a breath and changed my play
And found the Q got used!
Connecting all the words I learned,
It wasn't where they went or what they tried -
What made this year for them a win -
The peace they felt along the ride.

Quiet Likeness

Forget the crunchy goldfish.
Toasted oats - so yesterday!
The key to being rev'rent,
Sitting still while speakers dish,
Is to draw the girl beside you
Catch her charm in ev'ry stroke.

Merci, sweet Sabbath Stranger
For your sketch and rev'rence too.

A Hungry Citizen

Living in the USA
Lots of freedoms come your way.
Blog in rhyme if you want
Even use a dif'frnt font.

My blood is red and white and blue
Patriotic through and through.
Apple pie is the best!
For sure I'd ace a civics test.

Honest Abe, I'd love to meet.
Hot dogs are my fav'rite treat.
So no surprise I got to greet
This kindred spirit - nugget meat.

All 50 states in one sweet bite.
To resist the taste - so impolite.

Our Newest Addition :)

Some say you get the biggest breaks

When you’re the youngest one.

But, golly gee and goodness sakes -

It’s hard to be the little one!

So, she asked with puppy eyes

“Mommy, please, and, um, daddy too –

I’ve really got to talk to you!

I think it fair, I think it wise

To let you know it’s time tonight -

For a brother. Is that alright?"

Who snubs the plea of one

So cute – so dear – so young?

Blue she wanted - so blue she got!

We even named him : Little Scott.
